Please be sure to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your tour. Use our included Google Earth interactive map for each port to help organize your lunch, meeting and bus location. Checks accepted ONLY from SCHOOLS, payable to Sanger Ships LLC.You will receive a phone confirmation, usually within 24 hours of submitting your tour request.(If your number goes over 100, you will need to book an additional 30-minute time slot.) Maximum number of people allowed in a 30 minute time slot is 100.Groups of 15 or more receive a group rate of $5 per person.Each tour will last an average of 30 minutes, with time split between The Nina and Pinta.Each group has a tour guide assigned to them.You can book a tour anytime from 9am-6pm on days the ships are in port.You can see a list of our items by visiting our Ships Store page. Our larger ship, the Pinta, has a gift shop aboard. The guided tours are only for groups of 15 OR MORE PAYING guests, and are a true educational event, ideal for students.ĭuring the tour you will learn what life was like aboard a ship in the 15th century, about Columbus's many voyages, the mechanics of the ship, life aboard today, and much more. The self-guided tours are for individuals who simply arrive during open hours and pay to go aboard and experience the ships. We have two types of tours, self-guided and guided. Group tours require a minimum of 15 people. Teachers or organizations wishing to schedule a 30 minute guided tour with a crew member during the weekdays should go to /tour/html. Tickets are purchased at the Ship and prices are $8.00 for Adults, $7.00 for Seniors/Military (65+), and $6.00 for Children (5 - 16).

The general public is invited to step back in time & explore the Pinta for self guided tours from the 20th-29th October from 9:00a-5:00p daily. The Caravel was mainly used as a typical trading vessel along the Mediterranean and African Coast before being used for Transatlantic Voyages to open up new trading routes all over the World. Historians consider the “Caravel” the space shuttle of the 15th Century and was used as early as the 13th Century and into the 16th Century. The Pinta was the first Ship to sight land on the famous voyage of discovery on October 12th, 1492. The Ship was built by 8th Generation Portuguese Shipwrights using the same methods and hand tools that were used to build the original in the 15th Century. In 2005, the Pinta was Launched in Brazil after 3 years of Construction. The Ship will be docked at Calhoun’s on the River, 400 Neyland Dr, Knoxville, TN 37902 until her departure October 30th. On Friday October 20th the “Pinta”, a Replica of a Portuguese Caravel used by Columbus and many early explorers will open as a “floating museum” for dockside educational tours.
